And ...That photo really triggered a memory for me. And not of my own high school locker(s) but of my former classmates and me on a tour of the old high school at a reunion last fall. Massive renovations (to say nothing of it turning into a jr. high) found us scrambling around to find ANY remnant from our days there. My current novel is MG and the setting is realistic enough in that I recently spent time in an elementary school working with kids. If my next one turns into a YA, I've certainly got to get myself into a high school. As if there weren't enough gaps between YAs today and my own high school days, now I wouldn't even get the setting right!
